Blogger Outage - Twogging

Testcard

Hi Folks

Sorry for being off the air for a couple of days. However, Blogger (owned by Google) on which my sites are published fell over.

Functionality is now gradually being restored. However, it is possible that there may be further service interruptions.

During the outage I posted short "Twogs" (Tweet/Blogs) on Twitter @ken_frost

  2. What a difference a week makes.
From breaking the ton to almost none.
Put it through an analytical programme and find out what has occurred.
I don't thimk it was the blogger outage by itself so what has happened?

  3. It's obvious what has happened, the staff are happy in their place of work with a new caring, engaging, responsible and accountable management. There has been a sudden enlightenment WRT PACESETTER and the members support the PCS hierarchy and are all voting YES for PACESETTER in the current ballot.
If that is the case for you poor souls still trapped in HMRCISSHITE then you deserve what you have coming to you, those of you still in a job that is. Compensation scheme has been quietly slashed from 2 years to 1 year, if it gets any worse you lot will be paying to get out and looking forward to your soon to be privatised pension fund evaporating.
Well don't come crying then, just get a copy of Muppets on Tour and learn your lines!

  4. It must be said, the pathetic staff of HMRC deserve exactly what they have got.
The majority are either too afraid to stand up against the bullying management system or they are so happy to take what they are being paid under the conditions of Pacesetter and servitude that ensnares them they don't care what is happening.
At least 10,000 more of you to go, will you be one of them?
What a miserable bunch of shites

  6. But he is right. HMRC could only operate as it does if it has sheep for staff. Read staff comments on this blog to see that they are full of the language of losers.

You are either part of the solution or part of the problem.

  7. If I only motivate one person to get animated enough to post a comment on this site I count it as a positive.
If I actually motivate someone to actually write to their MP about what is going on in HMRC I will see that as a bonus.
If the MP raises the matter in the House I will be amazed.
If, as should happen, a Judicial Review takes place I will contribute towards the costs.
21:13 says - the answer is in your collective hands, stand up and be counted!

  8. I can see why those on the outside of HMRC are critical. You are, after all, the "customers".

Some facts that both those on the "inside" as well as those customers need to appreciate is that a Civil Servant as an individual has signed a contract that comers the individual to following any "reasonable" instruction.

When the whole system is dysfunctional, it is the management that has the power to change things. I have said before that ExComm communications since middle of 2010 seem to understand this. The "muppets" as people seem to refer to the poor managers are those below SCS (g6, g7, SO abd even HO) that can bit read or understand the directions. The mismanagement is really below SCS.

There is a review of management being conducted and a lot if SCS have failed to keep their position. Change is happening, but until the middle ranking bids start to feel the heat, people like me at AO level are waiting for Godot.

I hope that the criticism if all staff at HMRC rakes account if the fact that the only people who care about service to the taxpayer are at my level and below. The managers really seem to only care about their own situations and to hell with the taxpayers.

  9. Apologies for the typos in my post above. I'm in a smart phone abd it is a but clunky.

  10. @8:49

I'll think you'd find that from the top down, all the way through the food chain... they're all only following "reasonable" instructions.

So isn't time somebody pointed the finger in the direction of whose really to blame... the treasury, the chancellor, the MPs, the lawmakers & budgetsetters & the PM... the government of the day!!!

  11. HMRC staff, no matter how bullied and abused by a totally uncaring and out-of-touch management, will never ever receive any public sympathy. That is a fact that the staff know only too well, but they do not make a fuss about it. Instead the vast majority of the workforce does endeavour to go about their work with quiet dignity notwithstanding the increasing unhelpfulness and aggressive, thuggish behaviour meted out by their seniors while trying to cope with ever-increasing legislative and procedural complexity (euphemistically referred to by management as "change"). If HMRC staff drove ambulances or had to carry out hazardous duties like fire fighting perhaps that would be a different story. No-one likes a taxman any more than a traffic warden, but both do necessary jobs whether Joe Public prefers to believe that or not.
